Pelvic Health

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles at the base of your pelvis below your organs. It plays a key role in bowel/bladder control, pelvic organ support, sexual function, and lumbar/pelvis and hip stabilization. Symptoms related to issues with the pelvic floor (like urinary/bowel dysfunction and pain) may be common, but are not normal. Our pelvic floor physical therapist has over 4,000 hours of treating patients with issues related to his/her pelvic floor! She has adopted a holistic approach assessing the movement of the whole system for finding and addressing contributing factors to a person’s symptoms.

About

NW Movement Co began in the Spring of 2020 with the purpose of providing personalized one on one physical therapy to clients in the comfort and convenience of their own homes in the Greater Spokane Area. We have since expanded our services to provide physical therapy in our offices inside Parkfit (North Park and Central Park).

Charles (Trey) Nichols PT, DPT
Owner, Physical Therapist

Trey began NW Movement Co to provide the highest level of personalized care to his clients. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. His favorite part of working with his clients is seeing their excitement when they start enjoying the results of their hard work and PT. He gives himself fully to the success of his patients because their success is his success. Trey has been passionate about sports, outdoor recreation, and fitness for over 20 years. From toe injuries playing soccer to shoulder injuries guiding rafting trips (and nearly everything in between), he has learned many valuable lessons about what leads to injuries, what prevents injuries, and how to best recover from injuries. Trey loves spending his free time eating his wife’s chocolate chip cookies, taking his boys on outdoor adventures, and watching Clemson football.

Christy Frazier PT, DPT, PRPC
Physical Therapist

Christy joined the team with over 12 years of experience with highly sought-after skills in pelvic floor physical therapy and all things orthopedic. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University. She is passionate about educating her patients and enjoys their success just as much as they do! And if that’s not enough, you’ll love her humor and sincere interest in you! When Christy is not working, she enjoys traveling anywhere and everywhere, backpacking with friends, and singing and playing with her church’s worship team.

Amber Sands
Patient Care Coordinator

Amber joined the NW Movement Co team as the Patient Care Coordinator. Prior to joining us, she wowed the hotel industry with her amazing hospitality skills! You can count on your time interacting with Amber being just as comfortable as your best hotel stay! When Amber is not at work, she loves playing in the backyard with her kids, keeping her husband busy with home remodeling projects, and drinking coffee with her best friends.

Testimonials

I can’t recommend NW Movement Co highly enough. Trey has a unique combination of knowledge, skill, patience, and compassion that make him great to work with. His treatment and care have led to measurable improvements in overcoming an injury I had thought would be a life-long issue. His easygoing personality belies his earnest passion for helping people get better.
— Casey, former patient
My experience with NW Movement Co started with a phone call to Trey after I fell from the top of a ladder and sustained some significant soft tissue damage and bruising. His advice over the phone was so helpful, just implementing a few simple movements/stretches helped get me past the excruciating pain of those first few days and on the road to healing. I was impressed. Trey’s communication skills were clearly top notch if I could understand exactly what to do via a phone call. A few months later, an old Sacroiliac joint injury from 11 years ago began to flair up. This injury was never technically diagnosed, and I was told it “should get better with time.” Over the last 11 years, I had tried a couple different PT programs, cranial/sacral massage, and chiropractic care, none of which ever seemed to really make a lasting difference. I had resigned myself to the pain. But I was frustrated to be in my 30s and to feel like I would never be able to live as active of a life as I’d always planned on. I went to Trey, not really believing it would make any difference, but figuring it might be worth a try. Wow. Over the course of a couple months, he brought me from a point of thinking that I’d just have to live with the pain forever to realizing I could actually be free of it. I started out unable to walk a mile without being in pain, and ended up walking a 5k this summer, while 6 months pregnant, and feeling good. To anyone who thinks they just have to live with the pain they’ve had for years, or who is afraid to even hope that things could get better, go ahead and try. I was blown away. Trey is super encouraging and motivating, and his optimism is contagious. He gave me more than stretches and strengthening exercises; he gave me hope. I’m no longer dreading my 40s and beyond! And when other issues or injuries occur, I’ll be back.
— Kristy, former patient
Trey has been incredible to work with! Through careful investigation he discovered my pain and limitations were not permanent and not caused by my previous knee surgeries. He has helped me progress to the point that I’m once again doing a number activities (jogging, basketball, exercise class, hiking) I believed were either very limited or completely off-limits for the rest of my life. And not only is he incredibly professional and knowledgeable, his personality is so calm and personable that you enjoy the sessions. I would give Trey ten stars if I could. Thank you for giving me a chapter of my life back!
— Chris, former patient
In preparing for a big climb (Mt. Kilimanjaro) I saw Trey at NW Movement Co for issues with my IT band, plantar fasciitis, and overall flexibility issues. Trey worked with me for a couple months and my plantar fasciitis was gone, I was flexible enough to touch the ground (which I had never been able to do in my life), and my previous IT band pain was non-existent when descending down from a 19,344 ft climb. I have Trey to thank for helping me reach a goal, pain-free. Trey is very personable, listened to my issues, and put together a great plan for me. I would highly recommend NW Movement Co.
— Brad, former patient
I have been working with Trey and cannot praise him enough. I have seen dozens of physical therapists, but never one who cared for me body and soul. Truly the best PT I’ve had in a decade. He asks questions about my injury and my daily life so he is treating my whole self. He pays careful attention to your pain, and works with great wisdom, patience and encouragement to help improve your quality of life. He explains everything he is doing so I understand what is happening with my body. He checks in with me between appointments. He researches as many ways to treat my pain as he can to maximize success. He makes me laugh and gives me hope.
— Barbara, former patient
